Searle on consciousness

Searle asserts that the difference in our knowledge between consciousness and digestion is “we have a better understanding of digestion than consciousness.” I guess if the activity of the (consciousness) brain is analogous to digestion, then reading Sam Harris is to the (consciousness) brain what eating a Big Mac is to digestive system?
